The wife and I are about to set off for Europe in the van, Excited does not cut it.
I have done all I can to prepare the old girl for the trip, and worked on the van a bit too ;D
We are staying just outside Dover tonight and then catching the early ferry to Dunkerque in the morning. We plan to visit Belgium, Luxembourg, and then head to Switzerland round lake constance then through the Alps to France and up toward the Atlantic coast and Brittany to visit my parents (who live in Brittany)
3 weeks and 3000+ miles!!
Pics and Vid when we return.
Wish us luck. ;D ;D ;D

If you like rain... ::) :P
-
Gee, last time I was in Wellington, you could just stand there and get moved from one place to the other by the wind.........
-
maybe thats why the bedy's been in the garage for the last 15 years ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Yea Stevo, thats why it has gullwing doors, when its on the road he will be able to leave them open and FLY.... ok Rogue just pulling your leg, you have a real nice looking Beddie there, just get it finished......... :D
-
I'm getting there Bas. I have the will but the things eluding me at the moment are time and money. Had last week on leave and spent 6 whole days on it although you wouldn't know it to look at it. Just saving my pennies at the moment. If I'm quick I should have access to a cheap donor car for the motor and the diff is the next thing to go in.

I here Wellington was cut off from the rest of the world last week due to - RAIN. Only lasted a couple of days though 'cause the gail force winds blew it all away. ;D :D ;D
Hey Stevo. Look forward to seeing the progress on your new addition. If you pull your finger out you could bring it up to Chch for the 2010 Van Nationals.
Suterman, Have an awesome trip mate and keep us posted on progress etc. Plenty of pics are good.
Cheers
Garry.

It didn't overly concern us Garry as we live in our own little world down here anyway. At least we still had POWER!! ;D

Well we made it, 2980 miles in 3 weeks! Maybe more work than I anticipated. The Van went well apart from when it sucked up some dirt into the carb whist climbing the Sutsen pass in switzerland (2225 Metres above sea level) a good hour of climbing in second gear at 30 mph, it was the second climb of the day (oberalp pass was the first) we limped it to a nearby town and I got a can of carb cleaner and cleaned it all out on a campsite.
I also put a dent in the back door on the penultimate day when reversing into a clearly marked parking space that had a bollard placed in the centre of it ??? (should have look at the space first)
We visited Belguim, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Lake Constance, Switzerland and then back to france and over to the atlantic coast and up to Brittany to visit my Mum and Dad in Melrand then back home Via Dunkirk/Dover and stopped off in Bedford (no, really!) to visit an old Volvo mate of mine.
Only saw 2 other CFs the whole time we were away, one CF2 coachbuilt in central France and one CF coachbuilt about 5 miles from home before we go back.
