Do you mean you fitted XW Ford hubs/disks to the standard Bedford stub axle?

WraithKnight

Got any pics of the conversion, as it could be a good conversion tip, may be heaps cheaper than the kits going around.

Did you use ford ball joints to go into the bedford wishbones ?

Now if you fit Transit power steering it may all just bolt up.

you would have to use the xw tie rod ends and adapt to the bedford rack, wouldn't you?

Yes, but if you mount the transit power steering like some of the post on thi site suggest then it could be a simplw sweet conversion.

one of the dis advantages of the HQ conversion is that the discs have to be machined out to suit the bedford bearings, last time I went to a break place they were going to replace the discs, they were border line, but didn't because of the legalities of supplying modified discs.

If it is a sraight bolt on, then it opens up the option for adding the Powere steering, and a greater chioce and availabilty of custom rims

I have a question but not sure how to frame it,
if using the ford stub axles has this changed the spring height / travel?
that is, are the ford stubs the same height / distance between balljoints as the beddy?
does this make sense
I was going to look at jag stub axles as they have huge disks / calipers and I have a wreck but haven't got aroung to measuring yet

hey warren dont need to machine discs if you use the early stub axels/ lwb stub axels. they fit xb bearings with hq discs so ive been told many times.
