began the body work today!
« on: March 26, 2012, 08:13:54 PM »
so today it was a nice day so i was finally able to get out in the sun and fibreglass some body! i think i found about 4kg of bog in the passengerside bonet panel.. underlying that a layer of lovely rust! that said cut her all out and glassed her up, waiting on it to cure sucks.. shall be all good by the morning i hope for it's sand down / hopeful final blemish removal.. first time with glass.. it's quite nice to work with.

i'll post some pics soon if you guys could please give me some feedback as to how i've done?

thanks guys, andy!

looks like your getting the hang of fibreglassing anyway. will have to have a chat sometime about some cool stuff you can do with it.

REAL CARS ARE STEEL..
AC Cobra, Corvette, Ferrari ... to name a few non steel cars :D
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

I HAVE BEEN IN FIBREGLASS ALL MY LIFE, BUT I HAVE STILL DONE ALL MY RUST WORK IN STEEL, STEEL / WELDING BECOMES PART OF THE PANEL, FIBREGLASS AS GOOD AS IT IS, IS ONLY BONDED ON. IT HAS IT'S PLACE IN BODY KITS ETC, OR PLACES IT'S NOT TO EASY TO DO STEEL WORK. Sh..t Caps was on, not doing it again... :D

haha dont worry guys, this will be fixed properly in due time..
i've gotta get this van on the road so i can start working properly again.. atleast if i remove all of the rust now, then over the next year, i can either replace the entire front end or repair it properly.
