Wanted / Wanted - rear quarter panel & camper springs.
« on: January 12, 2010, 12:23:42 PM »
Hi all. Just looking for a couple of bits for my LWB project.

I need a LHS (passenger side) rear quarter panel from a SWB or LWB. Basically from the wheel arch up to the body line & back to the rear door. Must be rust & dent free, or close to it. Any leads appreciated. Mine is totally stuffed.

Also looking for one piece camper leaf springs for LWB CF rear axle.

I'm in Melbourne but will travel in VIC for these bits. Please PM me if you can help.

Thanks

Found for sale / Re: white SWB V8 on ebay now

Also, I've never heard of a 'dealership V8'. I'd be a bit dubious.

Probably be like most other old Bedfords in Victoria - put in a V8 and hope nobody notices. As soon as it runs out of rego, the next buyer needs a full engineers certificate for the conversion!

Nice looking project van - 4 spd auto and V6 conversion done - could be worth a look for someone!

Exteriors and Interiors / Re: Seat ideas
« on: August 13, 2009, 04:26:16 PM »
Hey Shane..
I had the same idea for my CF.

Couldn't find captains chair type seats anywhere.

Ended up going with XA - XC Falcon bucket seats. Stripped the seats, made the foam in the base a little smaller around to fit in with the engine cover. Got some armrests off a Yr22 Tarago people mover & welded the armrest mounts on the Falcon seats. Works perfect.

For the bases I used swivel bases - i think they're from a Transit van.

Came out pretty good.

Good luck

Kangan Batman TAFE at Docklands have a good short course in metal restoration & panel fabrication - ten weeks, once a week, on Tuesday or thursday - $427.
It covers MIG and oxy welding and making panels from scratch.

Worth doing if you're planning to do all the work in steel!
